I am a mathematician, and you can have a look at my webpage to have a better idea of what I do for a living.

Here’s a brief bio: I am Spanish, but just before turning 18, I left for Germany, where I lived for 11 years—always in Bonn. I then moved to Toulouse. I insist I spent 9 months there, though others claim it was only 2 weeks. After that, I went to the US (Chicago, Ann Arbor, and long periods in the Bay Area, totaling 6 years). Eventually, I grew tired of the endless snow during Midwestern winters. Logically, I moved to Canada… I stayed in Vancouver for 2 years. It’s a beautiful place, but it felt too far away, so I crossed the Atlantic again and decided to put down roots wherever I landed. That place was Rennes, where I’ve been since 2013. And yes, I am growing roots—literally. I’ve discovered a love for plants, trees, and the like. I’m also growing cats. Or, to be precise, I have five of them, which are growing increasingly fat, needy, and hairy.

I also have a daughter—aka “the being”—but even with her around, I’ve somehow had way too much time to rant on Facebook. I suppose this blog is my attempt to break that habit.

As you can see, I’m writing in English. No one thinks I’m a native speaker—not in German, not in French, and at this point, I’m not even sure about Spanish. A friend once said I speak Spanish using words from many languages. Maybe it’s more accurate to say I give boring, incomprehensible rants with mistakes in multiple languages, but always with a strong Spanish accent.
